Stainless Steel 317 and 317L Welded Pipes are austenitic stainless steels composed mainly of iron, chromium (18–20%), nickel (11–15%), and molybdenum (3–4%). The molybdenum content enhances resistance to pitting and chemical corrosion. Grade 317L has lower carbon content, reducing sensitization and improving weldability. Typical tensile strength ranges from 515–690 MPa, with yield strength of approximately 205–275 MPa. Welded construction provides uniform wall thickness, dimensional consistency, and reliable mechanical performance in corrosive and moderately high-temperature environments.
