Stainless Steel 316 Tubing is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy that contains about 16 to 18 percent chromium, 10 to 14 percent nickel, and 2 to 3 percent molybdenum. The addition of molybdenum significantly boosts resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in chloride-rich environments. In terms of mechanical properties, 316 tubing provides good tensile strength, moderate yield strength, and excellent ductility and toughness.
